Seen at Victoria Coach Station is Maidstone & District CO553, DKT11, a Leyland TS7 Tiger new in 1937 with a Harrington C32F body with a full length roof rack for carrying band instruments. It was rebodied in May 1950 with a Harrington C32F body also fitted with a full length roof rack for carrying band instruments. The coach behind is SRR 333, a Harrington Contender of Thomas, North Muskham.

GKE68, a Weymann bodied Bristol K5G new to Chatham Traction in June 1939, passed to Maidstone & District in October 1955 as their DH295, withdrawn the following year and entered preservation in 1960. It was acquired by Friends of Chatham Traction in November 2009.

HKL819 was new in 1946 as Maidstone & District SO9 with a Beadle B36F body and was converted to OB35F in May 1958 when it was renumbered OR1. It was renumbered again in January 1968 to 8001 and was withdrawn in 1970 and entered preservation in 1978 after sale in April 1971 to a dealer. The rear view is seen here in Sevenoaks Bus Station on the occasion of a London Transport Country Area Running Day.

Maidstone & District OR1, HKL819, seen in Hastings, was an A.E.C. O662 Regal with a Beadle B36F body when new in November 1946 as SO9. It was converted to OB35F in May 1958 and renumbered to OR1.

Maidstone & District OR2, HKL826, formerly SO16, a 1946 AEC Regal with Beadle body converted in 1957 to OB35F, along with two other similar buses, used from 1958 until the mid-1970s in Hastings and known as Emily. After a spell with Guide Friday in various places and then private ownership, it was acquired by NEBPT in 2007.

Maidstone & District OR3, HKL836, seen in Hastings, was an A.E.C. O662 Regal with a Beadle B36F body when new in March 1947 as SO26. It was converted to OB35F in June 1958 and renumbered to OR3.

In March 1934 Maidstone & District acquired the Hastings operations of Timpson, London S.E.6 and the vehicles acquired included six A.E.C. 661 Regents with Harrington H30/26R bodies which had been new between November 1933 and February 1934. They were rebodied with new Weymann H28/26R bodies between May and August 1942 and in 1947 Maidstone & District transferred these bodies to new A.E.C. O961 Regent chassis to become DH244-249, JKM101-106. The one seen here, DH248, JKM105, was withdrawn in 1958, passing initially to Cotter, Glasgow in November 1958 and then to Cunningham, Paisley in June 1959 when it was numbered 28. It had been renumbered to 30 by the time of this view.

O661 Regent new in 1937, it had been CO228 initially as C35F and was renumbered and reseated in January 1955 when downgraded to bus work.

To meet this need a number of elderly vehicles were acquired from other NBC companies. Ebdon, Sidcup BKT816C was one of twenty A.E.C 2U3RA Reliances with Weymann DP49F bodies new to Maidstone & District between January and March 1965. Numbered SC53 it became 2553 in January 1968 and was withdrawn in 1978, passing to Ensign (dealer), Grays in December and to Ebdon the same month. It later passed to Ladybird Majorettes, Gillingham in August 1980. It was seen in Butterwick at Hammersmith whilst working a rail replacement service for London Transport.
