In March 1934 Maidstone & District acquired the Hastings operations of Timpson, London S.E.6 and the vehicles acquired included six A.E.C. 661 Regents with Harrington H30/26R bodies which had been new between November 1933 and February 1934. They were rebodied with new Weymann H28/26R bodies between May and August 1942 and in 1947 Maidstone & District transferred these bodies to new A.E.C. O961 Regent chassis to become DH244-249, JKM101-106. The one seen here, DH248, JKM105, was withdrawn in 1958, passing initially to Cotter, Glasgow in November 1958 and then to Cunningham, Paisley in June 1959 when it was numbered 28.
