West Riding 1960 Roe bodied Guy Wulfrunian 995, UCX275. New as County Motors 99 it was transferred to West Riding in 1963 & its seating capacity was reduced in the latter part of its short career from H43/32F to H35/32F which it still operates as when the front seats were removed from the upper deck to reduce the weight on the front axle.

This Guy Wulfrunian with Roe body was new to County Motors in 1960. At the time County was jointly owned by West Riding and Yorkshire Traction and as a result the vehicle policy was to follow West Riding for double deck purchases and Yorkshire Traction for saloons. Numbered 99 in the County fleet it and its companion were quickly sold to West Riding where it became 995, UCX275, in their fleet.

West Riding stored Wulfrunian chassis inside, and underneath the Belle Isle garages en route to Roe's factory in Leeds. This photograph shows a line up of chassis inside the depot, clearly displaying the white steering wheels.

Accrington 157, 36VTF, Guy Wulfrunian with East Lancs H37/29R, one of two new in 1961. They were unique in having rear entrances and were withdrawn in 1968, both passing initially to Ronsway, Hemel Hempstead

Ex-Accrington 157, 36VTF, seen on Derby Day at Epsom with Ronsway, Hemel Hempstead, was a Guy Wulfrunian with an East Lancs H37/29R body new in 1961.

Lancashire United's only Guy Wulfrunian, 58, 802RTC, lasted barely two years in service before sale to West Riding. It was unique amongst Wulfrunians, in having a Northern Counties body which was commonplace on LUT's Guy Arabs.

In 1962 West Riding purchased Lancashire United's only Guy Wulfrunian. Before entry in to service, it was overhauled and had the destination area rebuilt. This unattributed picture shows 938 as it was to become, in the workshops at Belle Isle Depot, Wakefield being prepared for service.

West Riding 900, THL900, was one of the infamous Guy Wulfrunians with Roe H43/32F body, entering service in 1961. Although seen here working the "tram" route to Kettlethorpe, the use of the traditional red and cream livery for this route had long been phased out, and 900 was only months way from the scrap yard.

At the end of 1971 only 20 Guy Wulfrunians remained at West Riding, and on a Sunday in November 1971 we attempted to line as many as possible up for a photograph in the yard at Belle Isle. On the day however only fourteen were available, with two out on service, and four in the workshops or being serviced.

Wolverhampton 71, 4071JW, the unique forward entrance version of the Guy Wulfrunian (as opposed to front entrance) ended its days at Haskells scrapyard in Barnsley. West Riding Guy Wulfrunian 1012, BHL363C, seen withdrawn at the rear of Belle Isle Depot, Wakefield. 1012 was one of two Wulfrunians, 1009 being the other, still carrying the more cream livery at that time. Alongside is AEC Swift 20, JHL820E, delivered as a DP but shown after fitting with ex Wulfrunian bus seats, in 1971. These vehicles were out of service more than they were in use but lasted until 1976.
