Towards the end of their lives vehicles of second batch of Southend PD2s with Orion bodies were often used for driver training. Here 299, MHJ921, is in Rochford Road, near Warner's Bridge, on this duty.
It has had the glass of the via blind painted over, suggesting that it was by now a permanent training vehicle.
