Another shot on the Great Orme, showing why many consider it to be a tramway, at least for part of its route. Here car 5 is descending Old Road, where the gradient ranges from 1 in 3.6 to 1 in 4.4 (a stimulating climb for photographers!). This road is closed to traffic except for access to local premises.
Further up the Great Orme, the route runs at the side of the road or across country, rather than in the road itself, and consequently is more properly described as a tramroad not a tramway.
