Huddersfield Corporation 484, KVH484E a Daimler Fleetline CRG6LX with Roe H44/31F body built in 1967.
Seen here on Slaithwaite (Slawit) Rd at the junction of Helme Lane and Red Lane, around 1970.
David seems to think it is on a school special but I'm not sure.
Baddeley Bros. held the school contracts for children from Meltham to Holmfirth Secondary School. However, in my last year at Holmfirth (1970) Baddeley's lost the contract to the Corporation but whilst we got a good mix of ex JOC Reliances, and on the odd occasion the last surviving Guy Arab UF 7, GVH797, not to mention some of the ex Hanson Regal rebuilds and once an ex JOC E/Lancs bodied Regent V, without a conductor! I can't ever remember Fleetlines being used on this contract.
Even if 484 had been on the school contract it would have turned right (left as we look at the photo) in to Helme Lane and there is no evidence it is about to do that.
Incidentally, 484 is in the exact spot a WWII Luftwaffe incendary bomb exploded in late 1940.
