5. In the nineteen fifites, British Railways was responsible for the inter-urban tramway between Grimsby and Immingham. To work this it bought a number of cars from the Gateshead system when that closed in 1951. One of these was Gateshead car 10 a 1920s saloon that became 26 in the Grimsby and Immingham fleet. 7. Grimsby & Immingham 17 & 4 at Immingham. 17 was one of the ex-Gateshead & District cars which were shorter than the Grimsby originals and was one of the 56-60 batch acquired in 1951 when the Gateshead tramway closed. Brush 48 seat bodywork was carried on Brill 39E Maximum traction trucks on these cars dating from 1921. All five were scrapped in 1961. Photo taken Wednesday 16 April 1958, Immingham
8. Grimsby & Immingham 27 was ex-Gateshead 16 and was one of fourteen from the 1-20 batch acquired in 1951. It was a 48 seat car built by Gateshead on Brill 39E Maximum traction trucks and was scrapped in 1961. Two from the batch are preserved - Grimsby 20 (Gateshead 5) at Crich and Grimsby 26 (Gateshead 10) at Beamish both restored to Gateshead livery. Photo taken Wednesday 16 April 1958, Immingham
