1. EOG215
Seen at the garage in Hamilton was Laurie, Hamilton (t/a Chieftain) 56, EOG215, a Leyland TD6c which was new in 1938 with an M.C.C.W. H28/24R body as Birmingham 215. After severe war damage in 1940 due to enemy action 215, along with eleven others from the same batch, was rebodied with an English Electric H28/26R body intended for Manchester and re-entered service in 1942.

2. EOG243
Laurie, Hamilton (t/a Chieftain) 40, EOG243, was a Leyland TD6c with an M.C.C.W. H28/24R body new as Birmingham 243 in 1939. It was acquired by Laurie in May 1952 as number 39 and was renumbered to 40 when later fitted with doors. Seen at the garage, it passed to Bird (dealer), Stratford-upon-Avon in 1961 and was scrapped.

3. EAX641
Laurie, Hamilton (t/a Chieftain) 57, EAX641, seen at the garage, was one of three Albion CX13s with Duple L30/26R bodies new in 1941 which were acquired in 1955 from Red & White, Chepstow L541 (EAX633), L241 (EAX641) and L441 (EAX642) to which Laurie gave fleet numbers 52, 54 and 53 respectively.

4. GTD481
Laurie, Hamilton, 'Chieftain', acquired GTD481, a Leyland PD1 with an Alexander H30/26R body new in 1946 from Accrington Corporation 101 earlier in 1959 and numbered it 48.

5. JXN324
Laurie, Hamilton (t/a Chieftain) 52, JXN324, a Leyland 7RT with a Park Royal H30/26R body new in December 1948 as LT RTL12 as seen here, was re-registered to YVA776 in 1960 when the area Vehicle Examiner found that the chassis number carried differed from that in the log book (485162). It was allocated a new chassis number, 529296, and re-registered. It passed to Central S.M.T. as HL190 in October 1961.

Laurie, Hamilton (t/a Chieftain) 63, JXN334, a Leyland 7RT with a Park Royal H30/26R body new in 1948 as RTL14, later became HL193 in the Central S.M.T. fleet.

JXN333 was number 53 in the 'Chieftain' fleet of Laurie, Hamilton. It was a Leyland 7RT with a Park Royal H30/26R body which had been new to London Transport Executive in 1949 as RTL13. It later passed, in October 1961, to Central S.M.T. as HL191.

Laurie, Hamilton used the fleetname of 'Chieftain' and number 54 was JXN335, a Leyland 7RT with a Park Royal H30/26R body which had been new to London Transport Executive in 1949 as RTL15. It later passed, in October 1961, to Central S.M.T. as HL192.

Seen in Brandon Street, Hamilton is JXN353, Laurie, Hamilton (t/a Chieftain) 64, which was an ex-London Transport Leyland 7RT with a Park Royal H30/26R body new in 1949 as RTL30 and which became Central S.M.T. HL194 when the Laurie business was acquired in October 1961.

Laurie, Hamilton (t/a Chieftain) 65, JXN360, a Leyland 7RT with a Park Royal H30/26R body new in 1949 as RTL37 is seen in Brandon Street, Hamilton. This was later burnt out and was noted at Bird (dealer), Stratford-upon-Avon in August 1961.

Seen at Hamilton Central Station Laurie, Hamilton (t/a Chieftain) 61, JXN362, was a 1949 Leyland 7RT with a Park Royal H30/26R body acquired from London Transport (RTL39) which became Central S.M.T. HL196 in October 1961 when the Laurie business was taken over.

17. MVA100
Northern Counties L27/28R bodied Leyland PD2/12, MVA100, was number 55 in the Laurie, Hamilton fleet using the 'Chieftain' fleetname and was new in 1955. It passed, in October 1961, to Central S.M.T. as L206.

Stonier, Goldenhill acquired Leyland PD3/1 PVD629, seen here at the Stonier garage in High Street, Goldenhill, from Central S.M.T., Motherwell HL208 in October 1967 and numbered it 2.

Laurie, Hamilton (t/a Chieftain) 69, UVA638, seen in Brandon Street, Hamilton was a Leyland PD3/2 with a Massey H41/31F body new in 1959. When the Laurie business was acquired in October 1961 it became Central S.M.T. HL209.

Laurie, Hamilton UVA638 was a Leyland PD3/2 with a Massey H41/31F body new in 1959 which appears to carry a non-standard livery although the mudguards and dog rail appear to be in the normal shade of green as seen on the ex-London RTL behind.
21. XVA444
Up until the delivery of the Glasgow Atlanteans in 1962, there were only three of these buses in Scotland. Two were delivered to J Laurie, Hamilton and XVA444 (1960 build) along with 60AVA became part of Central SMT's fleet in 1961 (HR1).
