Dodds, Troon DT5, DGG910, a Guy Arab II with a Roe B38C body, was part of his contribution to the A.A. Motor Services fleet and is seen in the A.A. bus station in Ayr.

DGG910 had the Guy Arab II chassis from Glasgow 64 which had been new in November 1943 with a Pickering H30/26R body. Withdrawn by Glasgow in 1951 it passed to Dodds, Troon and was rebodied by Roe with a B38C body after the chassis had been lengthened, entering service with Dodds as DT5 in May 1953, and passing to a contractor after withdrawal in October 1965.

Acquired from Potteries Motor Traction L248 by January 1961, JEH482 was number DT17 in the Dodds, Troon fleet and was a Guy Arab II with a Northern Counties L27/26RD body new in 1952 which had replaced its Strachans L27/28R body fitted when it was new in 1943.

Dodds, Troon acquired DT14, GRH145, from East Yorkshire, Hull where it had been number 406. It was a Guy Arab II fitted with a Brush H30/26R body when new in 1944 and rebodied with a Roe H30/26R body in February 1953 as seen here in the A.A. bus station in Ayr.

Dodds (AA, Ayr), Troon DT15, GRH146, was a 1944 Guy Arab II with a 1953 Roe H30/26R body and was seen at Troon.

Northern Counties FH37/27F bodywork dating from 1960 graced this Guy Arab II of Dodds, Troon in his part of the A.A. Motor Services, Ayr fleet. Now registered OSD178, and seen in the A.A. bus station in Ayr, it had previously been Plymouth 277 (CDR 757) carrying a Roe L27/28R body when new in 1944. In 1954 it was acquired by Dodds from North (dealer), Leeds and stored until rebuilt and rebodied.

Seen outside Boswell Park Bus Station, Ayr is Dodds, Troon CAG39 which was a Bristol L6G new in January 1948 with a Burlingham C31F body. In 1958 it was rebuilt with a full front by Plaxton and the seating increased to become FC33F.

CAG800 in the A.A. Motor Services fleet was operated by Dodds, Troon with fleet number DT10 and was a Guy Arab III, new in June 1948, with a Park Royal H30/26R body.

Dodds, Troon CAG802, a Foden PVSC6 seen here at Dodd's garage, was new in July 1948 with a Plaxton C33F body. It was rebuilt with a Plaxton full front in 1958 to become FC33F, and was broken up in 1963.

Leyland PD2/3 CCK343 had been new as Ribble 2568 in 1948, passing to Young, Ayr in August 1962 and is seen at the A.A. Bus Station in Ayr. The bodywork, by Leyland, was L27/26R and it was withdrawn in 1967 passing to a showman.

Young, Ayr contibuted towards his part of A.A. Motor Services fleet CCK610, which was a Leyland H30/26R bodied Leyland PD2/3 which had been new as Ribble 2622 in 1948. It was acquired in March 1962 and is seen here in the A.A. bus station in Ayr.

Young, Ayr acquired CCK610 from Ribble in March 1962. New in 1948 as Ribble, Preston 2622, it was a Leyland PD2/3 with a Leyland H30/26R body.

CCS545, new in December 1948 to Dodds, Troon, was a Guy Arab III with a Brockhouse C35F body. In 1952 it was transferred to the bus fleet as DP35F and given fleet number DT1, and with similar ex-coach CCS 544, numbered DT2, was used on the A.A. bus services.

17. DVD310
Dodds, Troon acquired Guy Arab III DVD310 which had been new in 1948 with an Irvine L27/28R body, from Irvine, Salsburgh. The body was scrapped, the chassis lengthened, and it was rebodied by Roe with a B38C body before it entered service in May 1953 as DT1.

The Guy Arab II chassis of DVD310 had an Irvine L27/28R body when new to Irvine, Salsburg in 1948. Dodds had the chassis rebodied by Roe with a B38C body and it entered service in May 1953 as DT1.

AEC Regent III OKM317 was originally a demonstrator for Saunders Roe, who built its lightweight body. It was registered in 1951 for Maidstone & District, and became no. 13 in the fleet of Dodds of Troon in 1953.

AA Motor Services AEC Regent OKM317 on a road run in connection with the Brighton 85th Anniversary Rally in September 1986. It was originally a demonstrator for Saunders Roe, who built its lightweight body, was registered in 1951 for Maidstone & District, and became no. 13 in the fleet of AA, Dodds of Troon in 1953.

LWT880 was a Sentinel STC6/44 with a Sentinel B44F body which was new as Camplejohn Brothers, Darfield number 29, in June 1952. It passed with the Camplejohn business in January 1961 to Yorkshire Traction where it was numbered 130C. It was acquired by Tumilty (AA Motor Services), Irvine in May 1963, is seen here at Boswell Park, Ayr and was sold in 1966.

Dodds, Troon (AA, Ayr) DT13, OKM317, the well known Saunders H30/26R bodied A.E.C. 9612E Regent III is seen in Boswell Park Bus Station, Ayr. It had been acquired from A.E.C., Southall, in 1952, after being a demonstrator.

MXX187 was an A.E.C. O961 Regent III with an H30/26R body which had been new as London Transport RT3672 in 1953 and which is seen at Boswell Park, Ayr. It was acquired by Tumilty (AA Motor Services), Irvine in December 1963 and was withdrawn in 1968 and scrapped.
