Ex-Bristol Omnibus Co 1948 Bristol L with 1951 Bristol body, LHT903, photographed shortly after withdrawal by Dodds of Troon, where it had just been replaced by an ex-North Western Leyland Tiger Cub.
See here for a photo.
LHT903 had originally been an L6B express coach. In 1957, however, the chassis was converted to L5G spec and rebodied with a 1951 Bristol body which had been built on a pre-war Bristol J chassis, the body being converted for one-man operation at the same time. When in service with Dodds, the Bristol carried AA Motor Services fleetnames, but was actually used on a Troon-Barassie local service which was licensed to Dodds themselves.
