In the middle is an AEC Regent III with Northern Coachbuilders L55R body, ECX420, which started life with the Huddersfield Joint Committee and passed in 1963 into the small fleet of Vines of Great Bromley. It was in turn sold later in the year this picture was taken to Silver City of Harlow.

In the first half of the 1970s, Prance of Cardiff could be relied to send something interesting on a trip to Weston - either ex Scarlet, Minehead AEC Regal III/Harrington KYD151 or this much newer ex Cardiff Corporation AEC Bridgmaster TUH363. TUH363 was new to Cardiff as no 363 in March 1960.

Looking somewhat battered as it was reaching the end of it's service life, Southend Bridgemaster 319, WHJ430, passes Ashingdon Schools on it's way to Rayleigh Station. The Bridgemasters were regular performers on the Saturday Service 7 Journeys which terminated at this location.

At North's, the dealer, Sherburn-in-Elmet, a trio of former South Wales Transport AEC/PRV Bridgemaster 2B3RAs with Park Royal H43/29F bodies. YCY797 had been their 1217 (renumbered 876 in 1970) new in 1961 and had come to North's direct from SWT. XWN161 had been SWT's 1214 new in 1960 and had been exhibited at the 1960 Commercial Motor Show entering service in 1961, but had passed to Yorkshire Woollen as its 156 in 1969.

The bus had been new to South Wales Transport as it's 1214 & was acquired by Yorkshire with a few others in 1969 to help alleviate a vehicle shortage at the time.

These two Park Royal/AEC Bridgemasters were both bought new by Red Rover of Aylesbury. 27WKX came first in 4/62 and was a B3RA model with H45/31R body. It represents the standard form of the first style of production Bridgemaster. 6116BH arrived in 2/63 and represents the second iteration of the Bridgemaster as an H43/29F bodied 2B3RA.

I was surprised to come across East Yorkshire 716, 9716AT, an AEC Bridgemaster 2B3RA built in 1962 with Park Royal H43/29F bodywork at United's Bishop Auckland depot and assumed it was there simply for disposal surrounded as it was by a number of out of service vehicles from the United fleet.
