Ken Jones was born in Taunton Somerset in 1952 where his father worked for 24 years in the railway Concrete Yard, and that is probably where Ken's passion for trains comes. He certainly didn't travel far by bus or coach as he had free and reduced rail travel, which continued when he went to Aston University in Birmingham in 1970. Although interested in buses, especially Western National ones built by Bristol, he was and is more interested in railways. He chaired the Railway Society whilst at University and decided to stay in the West Midlands where he is based to this day having married in 1980. He's been chairing a model railway group for more years than he can remember.
He is particularly interested in N gauge model buses having one of the biggest collections and built a layout to show some of them. Earlier this year he worked with Kevin Ellis to produce a list of British outline N gauge buses

Between 1971 and 2009 Ken took colour slides of railways but moving to digital in 2009 enabled him to take hundreds of pictures of buses, many of these being donated to rally organisers, museums and drivers. Friends have suggested he puts some of his pictures onto the SCT61 site so that others can enjoy them.
