Laurie, Hamilton, 'Chieftain', acquired GTD481, a Leyland PD1 with an Alexander H30/26R body new in 1946 from Accrington Corporation 101 earlier in 1959 and numbered it 48.
This was one of the fifty bodies built by Alexander under sub-contract from Leyland and it can be distinguished by the four short ventilation slots arranged horizontally at the upper edge of the cab door framework compared to the two longer slots arranged one above the other on the adjacent Leyland bodied PD2.
