The driver of Southdown 117, BUF217, appears to be cutting the corner as he makes the right turn from West Street into Tower Street, Chichester.
From other photos, this seems to have been the accepted way of making the manoeuvre, although Tower Street is quite narrow. The conductor is holding on tight. A delectable selection of buses on the stands opposite the Cathedral.
Leyland TD4c BUF217 was new in 1935 with a Short H26/24R body and a petrol engine, and was rebodied by Saunders as H28/26R in 1947 as seen here - presumably it has now lost it's torque converter and gained a diesel engine. This good looking body was one of the first batch of double deckers to be built at Beaumaris.
