YD9533, a Dennis Ace with Dennis B20F body, was first registered on 4 May 1934 to Sully & Sons of Ilminster. That business passed to Southern National in 1936, in whose fleet the Ace became No.3650 and survived there until withdrawal in 1951.
At some unspecified later time it became a mobile fish and chips shop until it was rescued in 1969 by a group of enthusiasts, me being one of them, working in various London Transport offices. The restoration proved to be beyond our capabilities and the Ace passed into more competent preservationist hands to become a splendid attendant on the rally scene.
In the picture YD9533 is seen in the summer of 1969 within London Transport Reigate garage.
