The Southend PD2s were followed by what is probably one of the best known Southend types, a small batch of Massey bodied PD3s. Here 311, PHJ950, is at the stop on the Southend side of the Kursaal on route 8.
This bus (and three of its sisters) were later to be converted to open top, and all four are believed still to survive. It is not now possible to see a bus in this location.
