Southend Corporation 269, HGF879, a Daimler CWA6, new in 1946 to London Transport with a Park Royal body as D202, bought by Southend in 1953 and rebodied by Massey L27/28R in April 1954, entering service at the start of July that year.
It was withdrawn in Spring 1965.
Behind 286, HJN846, a Weymann bodied Leyland PD2, also bought for trolleybus replacement in 1954, pulls out on a summer only short working to Shoebury Common. Routes 5A and 7 shared the same bus stop which often led to chaos at busy times.
