Sheffield 908, 3908 WE, was one of a batch of 14 Roe H39/30R bodied Leyland PD3/1 new to the 'A' fleet in June and July 1959.
Earlier in the year, 16 similar vehicles had also been new to the 'A' fleet in the March. 908 saw further service with J Stevenson (Uttoxeter) Ltd, Spath as their 23. It had been acquired by Stevenson in July 1971 and entered service in the October after platform doors had been fitted and its seating had been changed to H41/32RD. J Stevenson became Stevensons of Uttoxeter Ltd, Spath, in 1972 and 3908 WE was renumbered 23A in July 1977. It was sold to G Bloor, Spath (dealer) in May 1981 for scrap, although its remains were still on the premises in July 2008.
