Ex Northern General Routemaster RCN695 in Bromley, March 1981.
This bus was new to Northern in March 1964. It seen here carrying it's Northern fleet number of 3079.
It was sold for preservation in February 1981, just before I took this photo of it climbing up Bromley High Street opposite Bromley South station. I doubt the shoppers of South London would understand the advert for "Shop at Binns". But just look at the shops further up the High Street that have long since gone. Debenhams and Army & Navy.
(Many thanks to Ken Aveyard for supplying the information link to the history of the Northern Routemasters. I wrongly assumed this bus was taken into the LT fleet until I read this.) The bus was scrapped in Glasgow by Stagecoach in 1987.
