FXT229 seen here with Smith, Reading was an A.E.C. O661 Regent with an L.P.T.B H30/26R body new in January 1940 which had been RT54 when with London Transport from whom it was acquired in June 1956 via North (dealer), Leeds to whom it had been sold in December 1955.
It was fitted with platform doors by Smith in 1959-60 and was withdrawn in April 1966 after which it passed into preservation, having a number of owners over the years. Ian's Bus Stop records it as being in store with R. Wood in 2005.
