Seen in King Charles Street, Leeds opposite the King Charles Model Centre is CVE551, a Leyland SKPZ2 Cub with a Harrington C26F body in the fleet of Cawthorne (Majestic Motors), Barugh.

JXC189 was the first of two A.E.C. 0961 Regent IIIs with Cravens H30/26R bodies, acquired by Mansfield, Burling & Welsh (t/a Burwell & District), Burwell from London Transport Executive in June 1956, having been new in 1949 and was seen in Drummer Street Bus Station in Cambridge.

Burwell & District JXC189, an A E C Regent III 0961 built in 1949 with Cravens H30/26R bodywork.

5. KGU142
Of the many former London Transport vehicles to find useful employment with operators all over Britain was AEC Regent III RT2213, KGU142, of 1949. The addition of platform doors to the Park Royal body is an interesting modification. It was purchased by Burwell & District in July 1970.

A poor shot of Mansfield, Burling & Welsh (Burwell & District) LCE800, which was a Daimler D650HS Freeline with a Plaxton Venturer II C41C body new in May 1953, seen here in Burwell.

Mansfield, Burling & Welsh (Burwell & District), Burwell NLE827 was an A.E.C. 0961 Regent III new to the London Transport Executive as RT3720 in 1953 with a Weymann H30/26R body. It was acquired in January 1971 from London Country, Reigate and was fitted with platform doors to become H30/26RD, as seen here.

A rear view of NVE1, a Willowbrook C41C bodied Daimler D650HS Freeline, new in 1954, in the fleet of Mansfield, Burling & Welsh, Burwell (t/a Burwell & District).

Another former demonstrator in the fleet of Burwell & District Motor Services was Daimler CVG6 PHP220. The Northern Counties H33/28R body was built in 1954 and the bus passed to Burwell in March 1956.

PHP220 a Daimler CVG6 with a Northern Counties H33/28R body was new in 1954 as a Daimler demonstrator. In March 1956 it passed to Mansfield, Burling & Welsh (t/a Burwell & District), Burwell.

11. NVE1
Burwell & District Motor Services of Burwell, Cambridgeshire had three Daimler Freelines. NVE1 was a D650HS model & was new in March 1955 with this rather stubby looking Willowbrook C41C coachwork.

346BUP was an A.E.C. 2MU3RA Reliance with an early Plaxton Panorama C41F body which was new in January 1959 to Gardiner, Spennymoor. It passed to General, Chester-le-Street in September 1960 and to Mansfield, Welch & Burling (t/a Burwell & District), Burwell, with whom it is seen here at Ascot, in April 1961.

13. UVE101
To add to recent excellent Burwell & District photographs, here is UVE101 at the Little Eversden terminus awaiting return leg of route 3 to Drummer Street Bus Station, Cambridge. It was a rare combination of late Daimler Freeline D650H/S and early Plaxton Panorama C41F body which served purely the Burwell company for just over fifteen years from June 1959.

New in June 1959, this Burwell and District Daimler Freeline D650H/S reg no. UVE101 was taken from the front nearside seat of an ENOC Bristol K on service 105 from Colchester to Walton in August 1959.

UVE101, a Daimler D650HS Freeline in the fleet of Mansfield, Burling & Welsh (Burwell & District), Burwell, had a Plaxton Panorama C41F body and was new in June 1959.

In the summer of 1976 or 1977, the sole Atlantean owned by Burwell & District - ex Wallasey Metro-Cammell bodied HHF10 looks out from the their garage in the village as ex Leicester AEC Renown/East Lancs FJF43D receives attention requiring the use of a stepladder. Peering out of the gloom in the garage is ex SWT AEC Regent V/Willowbrook YCY803.

Seen at the North Weald Rally is 932BCE which was an A.E.C 2U3RA Reliance with a Plaxton Highway DP47F body new in June 1962 to Mansfield, Burling & Welsh (Burwell & District), Burwell.

An April Fools Day 1971 visit to Cambridgeshire independent Burwell & District Motor Services revealed some interesting vehicles. 7552MX is a former AEC demonstrator AEC Renown/ Park Royal H39/32F new in 1963 and acquired by Burwell in September 1965.

Taken in the last week of operation at Burwell & District, this view shows the office/house as well as Daimler Fleetline 9DER. The BP sign on the wall is a clue that a filling station is masked by the bus. 9DER was new in August 1963 with a Willowbrook H42/31F body.
