On the right is former Stockport Leyland H30/26R bodied Leyland Titan PD2/1 287, EDB541, one of a large batch of identical buses puchased by Berresfords in 1970 andseen dumped amongst similar vehicles at the rear of Cheddleton depot in May 1981.

Entering service as Berresford, Cheddleton 94, in April 1970, EDB548, having previously been Stockport 294, was a Leyland PD2/1 with a Leyland H30/26R body which was seen at Cheadle.

From the large batch of ex Stockport Leyland H30/26R bodied Leyland Titan PD2/1s purchased by Berresfords from Stockport, 292 EDB546 is seen dumped in the yard at Cheddleton in May 1981.

Berresford's, Cheddleton HD8543, a Leyland/MCW Olympic HR44 with Weymann B42F body, new to Yorkshire W.D. (689) in 1951.

HWV793, a Leyland PSU1/15 Royal Tiger, had a Harrington Wayfarer IV C41C body dating from 1956 and is seen with Berresford, Cheddleton, numbered 22, arriving at Longton Bus Station.

Albion Motors built the lightweight Nimbus in the fifties. NSG869 was originally a demonstrator with a body built by Scottish Omnibuses. It ran for many years in the fleet of Berresfords of Cheddleton in whose livery it is seen here.

Berresfords purchased a pair of 1957 Metro Cammell H37/31F bodied Leyland PD3/4 from Potteries in 1973. One of them was former Potteries 704, 704AEH seen here in the yard at Cheddleton in May 1981.

Berresford's OCS70 started life as Western SMT B1566 in June 1960 and was originally H33/27RD on the Bristol LD6G chassis. Converted to a recovery vehicle by Western and numbered 7060, this image scanned from a print was taken by my brother possibly on the same May 1981 trip as my other images.

Possibly Berresfords first and for quite a while only rear engined double decker was 1013MW a 1962 Leyland Atlantean PDR1/1 with Weymann L39/34F bodywork new to Silver Star but coming to Berresfords from Super Coaches of Upminster in 1967.

Berresford purchased nine Leyland Titan PD2A/27 from Greater Manchester in 1975/6 with two different body makes. KEK739 ex GM 3255 had Massey bodywork and is seen at the Cheddleton depot in March 1978.

The second bodybuilder from the batch of nine Leyland Titan PD2A/27 Berresfords purchased from GM Buses was Northern Counties whose H37/27F bodywork is seen on KEK745, originally from Wigan and subsequently GM Buses 3265.

Berresfords purchased five of these AEC Reliance 2U3RA with Willowbrook bodywork. Two of these, VDB925 and VDB930 were B53F and came from GM Buses 925 or in the case of VDB930 Trent 373.

Not the best of images, but Berresfords VDB940 a former North Western via GM Buses (940) Willowbrook DP51F bodied AEC Reliance 2U3RA is seen outside the depot of the associated Byrnes of Leek depot.

Three of the AEC Reliance 2U3RA Willowbrook saloons that came from GM buses and Trent had DP51F bodywork. VDB943 came from GM buses and is seen at Cheddleton depot with Bedford YRQ Duple C45F.

A trio of ex Bournemouth Leyland Atlantean PDR1/1 with Weymann H43/31F bodywork came to Berresfords and the associated Stoniers fleets in 1980. Two were at Berresfords, AEL173B and AEL178B and the former is seen on the forecourt of Cheddleton depot on 10 May 1981

Berresford, Cheddleton JPA179K, seen arriving at a rally at Thorpe Park in Surrey, was an A.E.C. 6U2R Reliance with a Park Royal DP45F body which had been new to London Country, Reigate as RP79.

Berresfords acquired a trio of London Country RP class AEC Reliance 6U2R's in 1980/81. Two of them (JPA14K/JPA159K) had DP49F bodywork by Park Royal but JPA179K the former RP79 had been downseated to DP45F.

A slightly newer than normal vehicle in order to show the livery of Byrnes of Leek, a company acquired by Berresfords in 1960. A number of coaches were maintained in Byrne's blue livery and RRF232L a 1973 Plaxton C53F bodied Bedford YRT is seen in the coach park at Blackpool in October 1982.
