Baxter, Airdrie 34, EVJ807, was an A.E.C O662 Regal with a Massey B35F body. It had been new to Jones, Burley Gate in December 1947, passing to Hadwin, Ulverston before reaching the Baxter fleet.

Woods of Mirfield's famous Crossley, EVD406, did the photographer the honour of standing at almost the exact spot he took it in 1965. It was running a special free service over the original Woods route from Dewsbury to Mirfield, via Knowle, as part of the Dewsbury Bus Museum Open Day.

KUP949, a 1950 Leyland Tiger PS1/1 with Burlingham body was bought new by Iveson of Cornsay Collery in County Durham. By 1957 the bus was in service with Baxters of Airdrie who sold it in that year to Ledgards of Armley. It survived in the Ledgard fleet until 1967 and the sale to West Yorkshire.

Seen on a visit to the Middleton Garage of Leeds City Transport, opened in November 1966, is preserved ex-Ledgard, Armley KUP949, a Burlingham C33F bodied Leyland PS1/1 new to Iveson, Esh in 1950 and acquired by Ledgard in February 1957 from Baxter, Airdrie.

Ledgard, Armley KUP949 was a Leyland PS1/1 with a Burlingham C33F body which had been new in April 1950 to Iveson, Esh Winning. It passed first to Baxter, Airdrie as number 40 around 1953 and then to Ledgard in February 1957 retaining its Baxter livery for some time as seen here in Saville Street, Leeds.

Ledgard GVA289, a Duple Roadmaster C41F bodied Leyland PSU1/11 Royal Tiger had been new to Baxter, Airdrie in 1951 and was acquired by Ledgard in 1957. It is seen here entering one of the coachparks in Blackpool.

Seen at Airdrie Cross is Baxter 100, LDD770, a Leyland PSU1/11 Royal Tiger with Willowbrook B44F body which had been new to Bevan Bros., Cinderford in January 1952 and which passed to Baxter in February 1953 as number 60, being renumbered in 1954. It was withdrawn in July 1960.

A Leyland PD2 with what looks like a Massey Lowbridge body. Can anybody identify this bus please. It is a poor quality slide of mine and I am indebt to John Stringer for his efforts in scanning and improving it considerably from its original condition. The registration number looks like TVD 77 or possibly TYD 77 and the layout of the destination indicator looks to be quite unusual.

Baxters of Airdrie bought 42CVD new in 1962. It was an AEC Reliance with Plaxton Embassy C41F body at a time when most operators were buying Panorama bodies. It passed to Scottish Omnibuses when Baxters were acquired in December 1962, although Baxters livery was retained after an initial plan to repaint the fleet.

Baxter (Scottish Omnibuses) 80, DVA680C, was a Daimler CRG6LX Fleetline with Alexander 'D' type H44/31F body seen in Airdrie passing the bus station. It had been intended to be Western S.M.T. 2012 but was diverted to Baxter's fleet to replace 9961SF, a Fleetline which had been burnt out in May 1965.
