West Yorkshire DX34, OWX178, a Bristol LD6B with ECW H33/27RD body, new in February 1956.
Seen on service 16 in Knaresborough bus station, preparing to return to Harrogate. DX34 moved from Harrogate depot to Leeds in March 1969, for service then storage until withdrawal in September 1970.
Two of the three ladies in the foreground are giving the young boy photographer a quizzical look, no doubt wondering about his choice of subject as opposed to choosing the scenic sights of Knaresborough, but unaware that this was his first-ever bus photo using his first-ever camera! The fledgling indicator blind enthusiast chose this "action shot" of the driver gentlemanly helping out the conductress, and the hasty setup for the shot clipped off the roof of the bus and included said ladies.
Not the ideal place for blind spotting, since all one got was KNARESBOROUGH/SCOTTON/white blank/HARROGATE (or SCOTTON HOSPITAL on older versions).
