West Yorkshire DAW4, NCY455, was an AEC Regent V MD3RV with Weymann H33/28R bodywork, and had originally been new to South Wales Transport in July 1956.
In January 1967 it was purchased by Samuel Ledgard along with siblings MCY405/408 and NCY453. which following the takeover of Ledgard's by West Yorkshire in October that year, became WY's DAW1-4. On withdrawal in 1969, all four buses found further use with Smith's of Reading, who had them fitted with platform doors prior to entering service. DAW4 is seen at the rear of Grove Park depot, Harrogate soon after withdrawal.

Alongside DAW4 is West Yorkshire SBW21, KWU381, a 1952 Bristol LWL6B minus its B39R bodywork. It languished for quite a while outside at the rear of Grove Park depot, awaiting its turn to become a recovery lorry for Bradford depot. Sadly in January 1970 SBW21 was sent for scrap, and Bradford eventually received a converted 1953 Bristol KSW6G (DGW4:LWR424) as its recovery vehicle (numbered 4044) in July 1972 instead.
