West Yorkshire 1146, AWU466B, was one of six Bristol MW6Gs with ECW B45F bodies delivered to the Company in 1964 (SMG33/34:699/700FWW and SMG35-38:AWU463-466B).
They were the last MW service buses to enter service with West Yorkshire and all six had air suspension. The vehicles were renumbered 1141-1146 in the 1971 renumbering. In September 1971 the batch was converted to DP41F layout, using the seats from withdrawn SUG class vehicles: SUG68 (LS5G) and SUG69/70/72/74/76 (MW5Gs), although it is not known which DPs donated their seats to which buses. For some reason all six retained their red and cream bus livery rather than receiving cream and red DP livery as might have been expected.

The somewhat tardy destination display was possibly down to 1146 having been transferred to Harrogate at short notice. It still sports a maroon depot allocation disc for Leeds or its Wetherby sub-depot, rather than a Harrogate green disc. The bus is seen on the newly introduced 9/9A Dene Park-Bus Station-Woodlands/Oatlands service, and wouldn't have had any of those destinations on the blind. (No excuse for the mis-aligned black/white "wedge" or 9 and black blank mind!).
