Former Western Welsh FKG977, a 1951 Leyland PD2/1 with Leyland L27/26RD body, is seen here on hire to Southend Corporation Transport who needed some 7 foot 6 inch wide buses to operate under Hockley Station bridge while the roadway was being lowered, half of the road at a time, in early 1970 in preparation for the arrival of Southend's first Fleetlines the following year - two were hired, FKG977 seen here, and similar vehicle FKG979.

HUH25, a Leyland PSUC1/1T Tiger Cub with a Weymann B44F body had been new as Western Welsh 1025 in December 1953. It had passed from Western Welsh to Eynon, Trimsaran in October 1965 before becoming Silcox, Pembroke Dock 76 the following year.

Dearneways owned no less than three of the huge Western Welsh fleet of Weymann bodied Leyland Tiger Cubs, together with a similar former Rhondda Transport machine. HUH42 was one of a pair which arrived in 1966 (HUH3 was the other), together with former Rhondda NTG141.

Originally numbered 1047 in the Western Welsh fleet, HUH47 became number 72 in the Silcox, Pembroke Dock fleet in 1965. It was a Leyland PSUC1/1T Tiger Cub with a Weymann B44F body which had been new in January 1954.

Llynfi, Maesteg VTX44, a Leyland PSUC1/2T Tiger Cub with a Willowbrook DP41F body and JBO104 a Leyland PSUC1/1T Tiger Cub with a Weymann B44F body are seen at the garage. VTX44 had been acquired from John, Coity by August 1970 and JBO104 from Morris, Pencoed in January 1970.

Hornsby's of Ashby, Scunthorpe also owned this AEC Regent V MD3RV with Park Royal H33/28R body. LKG675 had been new to Western Welsh in May 1956 and spent a few months with Thornes of Bubwith, before arriving at its first Lincolnshire home by January 1971.

Western Welsh 680, MUH680, was an AEC Regent V fitted with a Park Royal H41/32RD body which was convertible to open top. It was exhibited at the 1956 Commercial Motor Show and was one of the first 30’ long AEC Regent Vs and the first with a fully automatic gearbox.

Western Welsh put six Plaxton Panorama C36F bodied A.E.C. 2MU4RA Reliances into service in 1965, numbered 150-155. These were reseated to C38F in 1965/6 and to C40F in 1966/7 and 150, DBO150C is seen here later in its life in C40F form. Renumbered from 150 to UD165 in August 1974 and then to UD4565 in October 1975 it was withdrawn in 1977 and passed to Ensign (dealer), Grays in January 1978. It then moved to Weaver, Tredegar in September 1978 and to Thomas (dealer), West Ewell in June 1979. Thomas exported it to Sri Lanka in November 1979 and it is seen here at Ratmalana with A. P. Enterprises registered 29Sri1762 leaving a filling station where it had been refuelled.
