Walsall trolleybus 854, TDH904, a 1955 Sunbeam F4 with Willowbrook H70RD bodywork enters the trolleybuses only contra flow lane in Stafford Street en route to St Pauls Street bus station. Motorbuses working the same services had to turn left here in to Day Street and follow the normal traffic flow.
The contra flow lane was meant to be temporary until withdrawal of the trolleybuses in October 1970 but looking at the same location today, all the buildings visible are still there and there is still a contra flow bus lane heading straight on although the left turn in to Day Street is now much wider.
