Now DT42, FT7383, this was one of ten H30/26R Weymann bodied Guy Arab III G5LWs new to Tynemouth & District in 1952; FT7381-90, 181-190.
They were withdrawn in 1965, however, 189 remained at Percy Main unaltered and became the training bus. This one also became a training vehicle based at Chester Le Street, but as can been seen, it was considerably modified for the purpose.
I suspect the photo was taken at the central works at Bensham, and this would be shortly before it left there to begin it new role as a trainer
