GMT 5891, MJA891G a 1969 Leyland PD3/14 with East Lancs H38/32R bodywork
The last open-platform bus built for the UK, after several years at Oldham it was transferred back to Stockport for its final few, in view of its historic interest.
Another of the slightly off-the-beaten track termini inherited from North Western, not surprisingly the only reason this infrequent route remained crew-operated was the need to reverse. By this stage GMT was keen to complete the final OPO conversions: with no other way of turning round, this route was quietly abandoned.
5891 was, I think, withdrawn a week or two later and is now with the GMTS, but I'm sure there will be comments on its condition!
