This photo illustrates the relationship between the A6 Wellington Rd South and the former North Western bus parking area discussed under NW 860 with in the centre GMT 5814, BJA914B, a 1964 Leyland PD2/40/East Lancs.
One type of bus would not normally be parked so neatly together, this picture was taken during a strike, which was called after a conductor was dismissed after a passenger fell from one of the open platform PDs during some sort of altercation.
The building in the background is now the Stockport hatting museum.
