Southern National, Bournemouth 1291, MOD978, was a Bristol LS6G with an Eastern Coachworks C41F body new in 1952, seen in Yeovil.
It was one of three which were in the Royal Blue coach fleet, and it was reseated to C39F by E.C.W. in March 1960. It was withdrawn in 1968, passing to North (dealer), Sherburn in July and to Emmerson, Immingham in September 1968. In April 1969 it passed to Rennison, Stockton and then to Beeline, West Hartlepool (as dealer) in January 1972. It entered preservation in April 1972 when it passed to Bunning (North East Bus Preservation Group), and then passed to Eastern National Preservation Group, Chelmsford in December 1976.
