Seen en-route on the summer Saturdays only service from Cheltenham to Brighton in about 1966 is Royal Blue Bristol MW No 2278, 766MDV.
New in May 1963, 2278 was initially based in Exeter, however a move to Bournemouth depot came in July 1966 where she was to remain for a further ten years before withdrawal in March 1976. A variety of owners ensued but I understand that, happily 2278 is now preserved.
