The chassis of Gosport & Fareham (Provincial), Hoeford 14, EOR251, was an A.E.C. 672 Mandator which had been new to the Texas Oil Company in 1932 with a tanker body.
The chassis was acquired in 1943 and was rebuilt to forward control, fitted with an A.E.C. 7.7 litre oil engine, a Regent radiator and a dropped rear frame and fitted with a Reading H30/26R body before entering service in 1944.
