This photograph is a little misleading as at first sight the bus appears to be restored. In fact it's a testimony to quality of presentation and traditional style of Portsmouth's livery that make it look preserved. I believe the advert indicates its true role, which was a driver training vehicle. The preserved image is enhanced further by the fitment of an old Portsmouth blind dating from the era when motorbus services used letters.
The bus is Portsmouth 85, LRV977, and was a Leyland Titan PD2/12 with Metro-Cammell H30/26R body and is attending the Sandtoft Gathering, hence the sales stand to the left.
