This is an uncredited photo from Roger's collection of Portsmouth 201 (the former no 1) RV4649 making its stately way along Kingston Road. This AEC 661T/English Electric H26/24R was new in 1934 and is of the model that Portsmouth adopted as standard.
It was the last of the evaluation batch to be withdrawn, outliving the others by at least 3 years, and has been preserved. The rectangular window above the driver's windscreen was added when fairly new as the shallow windscreen obstructed the driver's view of the overhead.
