One might assume that conversion to open top just required chopping the top off. Portsmouth Corporation obviously didn't agree. 1935 Leyland TD4/English Electric 115, RV6358, is seen under conversion in the Eastney bodyshop in January 1953.
The extensive work undertaken obviously paid off as it gave more than 17 years further service.
