Another photo from that wet Sunday in Derby. Potteries Motor Traction SN5587, VEH587, an AEC Reliance with Weymann B44F body new in 1955, hence the 1st 5 in the fleet number - this eccentric system was introduced in 1954 and abandoned after 1959.
Did they not realise that most vehicles lasted more than 10 years in the fleet?
On Sundays the 23 from Hanley operated every 3 hours. The crew here were off enjoying their 35 minute layover in Derby.
