CDR679, a Guy Arab II (5LW) originally new in 1943 to Plymouth C.T. (249) with a Roe L27/28R body.
Later it passed via a dealer to a farmer who cut it down into this form to carry bales of hay around the farm. Incredibly it survived long enough to later find itself at the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum at Lathalmond where it pictured here. A suitable utility body from another bus was then fitted to the Guy chassis and it was finished off to represent a Walter Alexander vehicle.
Who remembers the article in 'Buses Annual 1965' (I think) featuring CDR679 being acquired by the farmer and the removal of the body, then giving rides to a party of enthusiasts ?
