JA2459 was an A.E.C. 662 Regal new in March 1932 to Howe, Stockport with a Duple C28F body. It passed to North Western, Stockport as number 170 in 1935 and in 1939 it passed to Claribel, Ardwick, Manchester.

North Western 415, JA7787, awaiting departure at Glossop (Norfolk Arms Hotel) during the late 1950's. It was a Bristol K5G, new in 1938 with fleet number 887 and an ECW body but in 1951 it was rebodied by Willowbrook and renumbered.

North Western 421, JA7793, is a 1938 Bristol K5G with a 1951 Willowbrook L27/26R body. Also withdrawn by the time the Ian Allan ABC was published in 1964, it carries the version of the livery with the cream roof.

Two North Western Road Car Company buses from different eras, 423, JA7795, a Bristol K5G with Willowbrook L27/28R body, delivered new in 1938 as Fleet No 895 originally with an ECW body but was rebodied in 1951/2. It was not withdrawn until 1965.

North Western bought this Bristol K6G in 1939. 432, AJA152, originally carried ECW bodywork but following the second world war it was rebodied in 1951 by Willowbrook to give a further 15 years of service, finally being withdrawn in 1965.

This one has a Weymann B42R body on its Atkinson Alpha BPM746H chassis and is seen on the 27 service to Buxton in this shot at Manchester L.M.S.

In May 1959 it was fitted with a Ruston & Hornsby air-cooled engine in place of the Leyland O/600 and this photo shows it with the front originally fitted after the conversion. It is seen here entering Lower Mosley Street Bus Station in Manchester for a trip on the X60 service to Blackpool followed by a Ribble Leyland bodied Royal Tiger on similar duties.

North Western bought several batches of Bristol RELLs when they became available on the open market. The penultimate batch which came in 1971 carried ECW bodywork with a special low roof line to enable them to pass under the Bridgewater Canal on the Warrington to Altringham service. 374, SJA374J, became SRL239 in the Crosville fleet and is seen at Warrington.

New to North Western in 1971 as their 352, SJA352K spent most of its working career with Trent before gravitating to Citibus as their No. 52. It is a Bristol RELL6L with Marshall bodywork and was subsequently preserved.

In 1971 North Western took delivery of a batch of 9 Bristol RELL6L's numbered 373 to 381 registered SJA373-381J with modified roof profiles to fit under the canal bridge at Dunham Massey. These buses replaced the famous Bedford VAL's pictured elsewhere on the site.
