UVK506G was new to Newcastle Corporation as their 506 in July 1969, one of 11 Alexander 'W' type bodied Leyland Panther PSUR1A/1R delivered that year.
All eleven were transferred on 1 January 1970 to Tyneside PTE, which became Tyne & Wear PTE on 1 April 1974. Along with the rest of the batch 506 was renumbered 806 in July 1974, and 1806 in 1977.
