In 1960 Neath & Cardiff bought three AEC Reliance 2MU3RVs with Harrington Cavalier C41F bodies (WWN189-191), with this one WWN191 entering service on 29th July 1960.
Two further pairs followed in 1962 and 1963 but this time on thirty-six foot long chassis. The 1960 trio was kept largely on private hire work for the first seven years of their existence. Neath & Cardiff came under the control of South Wales in April 1969 and this vehicle was allocated fleet number 113. However, it never carried South Wales livery or fleet number and passed to Western Welsh on 1st January 1971 where it was allocated the number 102. It didn't carry this number either as it never ran for Western Welsh and was sold to Morris, Pencoed in September 1971 and then into preservation as early as August 1972.
Behind the nearside windscreen under the wiper arm can be seen a copy of Gerald Truran's 1971 book on Neath & Cardiff, an excellent publication which has provided a lot of the information used in the captions.
