Lancaster 58, KTF587 was an AEC Regent III of the 9612E variety, new to Morecambe & Heysham Corporation in 1949. New with a Park Royal H30/26R body, she has been converted to open top layout for summer duties, and upstead to O33/26R.
She is seen in her original depot, Heysham Road, on Tuesday 20 May 1975. Local Government Reorgainsation has brought Morecambe & Heysham into Lancaster, and, while she retains the two-tone green livery, she has CITY OF LANCASTER fleetname in Tilling style. Some of her sisters carried advertising hoardings for a number of years. Does anyone think that it improved their appearance? This one went to Athlone, Ireland, in 1980, for preservation, being registered as IY1940 in the Republic.
Still in original Lancaster maroon and cream, YTE114H is alongside.
