Lancaster 89, 35MTD, is a Leyland Titan PD2/37 with Massey H37/27F bodywork, new in 1960 to Morecambe & Heysham Corporation.
The route number blind is an afterthought, fitted in 1972. She was transferred to the Lancaster fleet at Local Government Reorganisation in 1974, and withdrawn in January 1976. In this view, on the evening of 13 September 1975, she is westbound on the Promenade at Bare on the 21. The block of flats in the background is on the corner of Princes Crescent, and was rather controversial, involving allegations of shady deals on the part of the outgoing Town Clerk!
For plotting on the map, 89 is between St Christopher's Church and Broadway. What, please, is that maroon vehicle opposite the bus?
