SCT '61
London Transport Sold On Operator Index

Everyone likes a mystery tale at Christmas, so here is one that perhaps the sct61 detectives can solve.
I had been going through Robert Jowitt's pictures of trams on the SNCV in Belgium when I came across what appeared as a blob in a field on a negative marked "ex-LT". A closer look and an enlargement revealed what is almost certainly a London Transport AEC Q of the 4Q4 series, possibly a body only, in use as a poultry shed.
Although some LT vehicles went to Belgium just after the war (T357 being one such), the 4Q4s were not withdrawn until 1953-4. How this one ended up in Belgium is a mystery, though it must have come via a dealer. A number of STLs are known to have been exported to Belgium around this time, so perhaps this came too. The picture dates from 1966, and judging by the adjacent negatives, was taken near Mons.
