Liverpool developed a very idiocyncratic approach to bus design after the second world war and bought many batches of buses to their own specification rather than the chassis or body builders standard offerings. In 1957-58, sixty AEC Regent V D3RV with Metro Cammell body were bought. A267, VKB900, shows off the Liverpool interpretation of the AEC grille and its built up sidelight well in this shot taken at the Lancaster 75th anniversary celbrations in 1978.
The non-standard radiator grille also appeared on AEC Regents operated by Aberdeen and Glasgow.
