After two batches of Leyland Panthers, Liverpool next rear engined saloons were Bristol REs. Twenty five were delivered in 1969 just before the corporation became the major constituent of Merseyside PTE. 2025, SKB695G, a Bristol RELL6G is seen in Warrington in 1977 by which time it was based at the St Helens depot of the PTE
They were the only RE chassis ever to carry Park Royal bodies albeit to a Liverpool specification which gave them a family resemblence to the earlier Leyland Panthers. A dual purpose Crosville Leyland National brings up the rear.
