Seen at the refreshment stop in Crawley on its way to Brighton was ex-Lancashire United 202, TF818, a Leyland LT1 Lion new in 1930 with a Roe B30F body, which was taking part in the H.C.V.C. run. Next to it is ex-Leeds 139, ANW 682 on its first rally outing after restoration.

Lancashire United 114, CTF423, a 1938 Leyland Tiger TS8 with Roe B30F bodywork. The bus carries headlamp masks and white edging to guard rails and mudguards to simulate wartime coditions. LUT did not use roller blinds but had a system of drop in stencils which were backlit in the dark

Cumbria Classic Coaches run a fleet of vintage buses on excursions in the nothern Yorkshire Dales. One of their current fleet is is this former Lancashire United Guy Arab III with rare Roe coach body dating from 1951 and originally 440, MTJ84, in the LUT fleet.

Cumbria Classic Coaches operate former LUT440, MTJ84, a Guy Arab III with Roe C31F bodywork which was new in May 1951. Apparently it was originally tested for 35 seated passengers with 25 standing! Originally in crimson and black, it is now in crimson and cream. The coach was purchased by Cumbria Classic Coaches in October 2002 and has appeared on 'Heartbeat' and 'Born and Bred'.

Former Lancashire United Transport 577, YTD878, a Daimler CVG5K with Metro Cammell Group Orion H33/28R body. New in 1956 and licenced to the South Lancashire Tramways subsidiary, though always carrying the LUT identity, this batch of 24 passed officially into the LUT fleet on the winding up of the SLT trolleybus system in 1958. Withdrawn in 1970 it is seen in North's yard at Sherburn-in Elmet shortly afterwards.

For a short while South Lancashire owned twenty-four motor buses although they carried Lancashire United fleetnames. This came about when the St. Helens service was converted to motorbus operation and an Act of Parliament to wind up S.L.T. was proving troublesome. The buses were 570-593, YTD871-894, Daimler CVG5s with Metro-Cammell H33/28R bodies new in 1956. Here 591, YTD892 is seen outside Atherton depot the day before S.L.T. was wound up at midnight on 31st August 1958.

Lancs United bought many Leyland Titans over the years the last ones came in 1958 and were Leyland Titan PD3/4s with Metro Cammell bodywork. After withdrawal by LUT in 1970 649, 566FTF, found further employment with Shaw Brothers of Byers Green. It is seen on a murky day in Spennymoor.

Seen in Spennymoor is 566FTF, a Leyland PD3/4 with a Metro-Cammell H41/32R body which had been new as Lancashire United 649 in 1958. Shaw Bros., Byers Green acquired it in October 1970 and it passed to United in January 1975 but was not operated.

Although Northern Counties supplied the vast majority of Lancs United bodywork, the company occassionallly bought from other sources including Metro Cammell. Seen loading at Wigan bus station is 43, 534RTB, a 1961 Guy Arab IV with 73 seat Metro Cammell bodywork. This was one of the last Metro Cammell bodies bought by LUT.

Lancashire United's only Guy Wulfrunian, 58, 802RTC, lasted barely two years in service before sale to West Riding. It was unique amongst Wulfrunians, in having a Northern Counties body which was commonplace on LUT's Guy Arabs.
