8. UU6646
In the discussion on my photo of T1 at Hornchurch Garage Peter Stobart commented that it should have been the original LGOC T1. I cannot manage a photo of that, but as a next best thing, here is one of the same batch, T31 UU6646, at Chiswick in March or April 1956. Most of these buses were withdrawn by 1949, although a few (most of which had been refurbished) survived until 1953 on a route at Walton-on-Thames where a weight restriction precluded use of anything else.

23. CLX545
In October 1936 LT took over the night time inter-station link that had been operated by P.Hearn. The service linked the major main line termini, and although not that busy, the select patronage had a lot of luggage - the solution was a batch of 8 petrol engined Leyland Cubs with Park Royal half deck bodies, an idea that LT re-invented after the war for the BEA airport buses. C108, CLX545, is seen on the service (inevitably at night) at one of the London stations in 1948.

Also at Chiswick in spring 1956 was a later example of the T class, ex-Green Line coach T716 EYK351. There is no record of this being used on training duties, but it is recorded as being a staff bus at Reigate until 1957, so that was probably why it was at Chiswick.

This class, introduced in 1939, was "chassisless" having AEC running units, Metrovick Motors and Metro-Cammell bodies. 1357's days are numbered as withdrawal of the route took place on 31st January 1961. The general murk on the edge of the City is clear. Sub surface Underground trains could clearly be heard running underneath at this location, even if they could not be seen.

62. FXT211
In 1955 a small number of “pre-war” RTs were repainted green and sent to Hertford to work route 327, which crossed a weak bridge at Broxbourne (these buses were slightly lighter than the standard RT). Here RT36, FXT211, has just crossed the offending bridge as it passes Broxbourne station on the 327 on 2nd March 1957. Rebuilding of the weak bridge enabled these buses to be withdrawn towards the end of 1957 and, like many of the pre-war RTs, they finished their days as trainers or staff buses.
