Lockey's of St. Helen Auckland LJX13, an AEC Regent V 2D3RA with Metro Cammell H40/32F body, new as Halifax Corporation 13 in 1960 and acquired by Lockey's in 1970. It passed to Meller, Goxhill in 1972 and was finally withdrawn by 1977.
Overexposure and the black and white livery almost gives the photo a monochrome look. Halifax GM Geoffrey Hilditch couldn't wait to beginning ridding the department of these Mk. V's and three soon found themselves with North Eastern independents - LJX13 passing to Lockey's, and 15 and 17 to OK Motor Services. All three were repainted by Halifax's paintshop for their new owners as far as I am aware.
