KGK687 with Exors of Samuel Ledgard. Ex London Transport RT 1218, AEC Regent 3RT with Weymann H30/26R body, nominally new 1949.
One for Chris Y at Christmas time! Ledgard ex London RT KGK 687, taken at Calverley terminus in October 1967, immediately before the end of the company. The conductor appears to have taken the view that it was so near the end that any retribution a Ledgard inspector might dole out would be meaningless, so saving energy by not bothering to change the blind at each end of the route was worth the risk.
The bus had been acquired by Ledgard via Norths (dealer), Sherburn in Elmet, in 7/63 and at the takeover of Ledgard it passed to West Yorkshire, but was not operated. Sold to PVS (dealer), Upminster, it was one of a number of ex Ledgard RTs that were sold to a dealer in France, supposedly for promotional work, but about which very little is known.
